This Privacy Policy describes how Himsog ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Himsog mobile application. By using Himsog, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

• Email address — used to create and manage your account and sync your data across devices via Google Sign-In.

1.2 Profile Information

• Name (optional), age, gender, height, weight, target weight, fitness goal, activity level, experience level, workout location, and injuries.
• Used to calculate your personalized daily calorie and protein targets.

1.3 Health & Fitness Data

• Food log entries — food name, calories, protein, carbs, fat, serving size, source (manual, barcode, or AI), and ingredient breakdowns.
• Weight log entries — weight measurements, dates, and optional notes.
• Streaks and daily summaries — used to display your progress.

1.4 Photos

• Photos you take or pick from your gallery to use the AI Food Scanner feature.
• These photos are sent to Google's Gemini AI vision service for food analysis and are not permanently stored on our servers.

1.5 Chat History

• Messages exchanged with the FitAI Coach (your questions and the AI's responses).
• Stored locally on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to your account.

1.6 Camera & Photo Library Access

• Camera — used to scan product barcodes and take food photos.
• Photo library — used to pick existing photos for barcode scanning and AI food analysis.
• We do not access your camera or photos unless you actively use these features.

1.7 Purchase Information

• If you subscribe to Himsog Pro, your purchase and subscription status are processed by Google Play Billing.
• We receive a confirmation of your subscription status (active, cancelled, expired) to enable Pro features — we do not store your payment card details.

1.8 Usage Analytics

• We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g., crash reports) through standard platform services to improve app stability and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core features of the app: calorie tracking, AI food scanning, barcode lookup, AI coaching, weight monitoring, and progress insights.
• To calculate personalized nutrition and fitness targets from your profile.
• To sync your data across devices when you are signed in.
• To verify and manage your Himsog Pro subscription.
• To respond to your support requests and feedback.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf to operate the app:

• Supabase — backend database and authentication provider. Stores your account email, profile, food log, weight log, and chat history. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini AI — processes food photos and chat messages to provide the AI Food Scanner and FitAI Coach features.
• Google Play Billing — handles Pro subscription purchases and verification.
• Google Sign-In — used for authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Open Food Facts — public database queried by barcode to retrieve product nutrition data. No personal data is sent.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or property.

4. Data Security

• Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app and our servers.
• Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform secure storage (Expo SecureStore / Android Keystore).
• Access to user data in our database is restricted by row-level security policies — each user can only read and write their own data.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• You can delete your local data at any time by signing out or using the "Reset Onboarding" option in the app.
• To request full deletion of your cloud-synced data (account, profile, food log, weight log, chat history), email us at jm.planteras@gmail.com and we will process your request within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent to data processing (by deleting your account).
• Export your data (contact us to receive a copy).

7. Children's Privacy

Himsog is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Third-Party Links

The app may link to external services (e.g., Open Food Facts, Google Play subscription management). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party services.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
